Last Tuesday, November 19th, The Firebolt Company formed by students of the Drama Elective for 11th grade and directed by Miss Paola Morgan and Miss Mónica Zepeda, presented the play “The Day the Internet Died”. This was a year project for the actors who challenged themselves in order to perform and show their acting skills.

Throughout the year, our actors get to create scenes, perform monologues, learn stage skills, and take part in exciting drama challenges. And of course, the highlight of our program is our annual class production, where students perform a full show for a selected audience.

In this opportunity our year project was the play “The Day the Internet Died”, which is a lighthearted comedy that asks a surprisingly big question: What happens when the thing we depend on most suddenly disappears?

Through humor and creativity, the play reminds us how much the internet shapes our lives, and how much we can accomplish when we reconnect with each other face-to-face.

Our selected audience was a group of students from 7th to 9th grades from Trinity School accompanied by Miss Carmen Rivera, who were a spectacular audience. Our guest students enjoyed the presentation with respect, and shared with the cast not only in the Theater Room, but also in the field during an active break time.

The Firebolt Company, did not only learn about theatre, they learnt about communication, teamwork, bravery, and creative problem-solving. These are skills that remain in the students’ characters after the curtain falls. We thank our dearest guests, students from Trinity School and their teacher, Miss Carmen Rivera, who once again accepted our invitation to share an English-speaking activity.
